It was Game 5 of the World Series against Sunday Night Football last night, and football was the clear winner. In the 7:00 p.m. hour on Fox, the game between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals averaged 11.93 million viewers, while an overrun on the NFL game between the Steelers and Colts on CBS drew 20.47 million. Later, NBC’s Sunday Night Football featuring the Packers and Saints averaged 17.20 million viewers, while baseball drew 10.99 million. Surprisingly, CBS’s regular programming also edged out the World Series. The network’s 60 Minutes, which aired at 8:00 p.m. on the East Coast, attracted 13.46 million viewers. At 9:00 p.m., Madam Secretary drew 11.59 million, and at 10:00 p.m., The Good Wife landed 9.56 million viewers.
