DRAMA WILL AIR ACROSS THREE NBC SHOWS THIS WEEK

With an eye on the November sweeps, three NBC shows will interlock on a police procedural drama beginning tonight (Tuesday) and continuing through Thursday. In the first episode, two characters with opposite behaviors — Chicago PD detective Hank Voight and Law and Order: SVU sergeant Olivia Benson — team up to shut down a child pornography ring. Matt Olmstead, executive producer of Chicago PD and Chicago Fire (the third show), told the New York Post that the characters, played by Jason Beghe and Mariska Hargitay, "recognize that the other person is a formidable personality. … They can stand up to each other without worrying that the other person’s going to get their feelings hurt." Warren Leight, executive producer of SVU, told the newspaper, "I remember when I was a kid the Justice League of America comic books where all the superheroes would get together."
