Amazon would appear to be taking advantage of the outcry over Netflix’s plan to charge an additional $3.00 over its monthly $9.00 subscription plan to receive a limited number of movies and TV shows in 4K or "ultra" high definition. On Tuesday the company said it would not charge its Prime Instant Video members extra for streaming ultra-HD content. "We’re confident that offering Ultra-HD content, whether it’s a TV series or a film, will help create the ultimate viewing experience," Michael Paull, VP of Amazon digital video, said in a statement. He also announced that Amazon will be streaming some shows, produced exclusively for Amazon Prime, in Ultra HD, including Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live! and the series Mozart in the Jungle.
