ABC TAKES OVER OWNERSHIP OF MONDAY NIGHT

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars wiped the floor with its rivals Monday night, clobbering the usual Monday-night winners on CBS soundly. A two-hour edition averaged 22.56 million viewers, peaking in the final half hour at 9:30 p.m. with 24.89 million. Ratings for the show were up 9 percent from a year ago and 12 percent among viewers 18-49. ABC’s Castle rode Dancing‘s coattails to victory at 10:00 p.m., posting 14.47 million viewers and winning the hour. CBS offered only reruns, but several posted decent numbers against Dancing, including stalwart comedy Two and a Half Men, which drew 10.79 million viewers, and The Big Bang Theory, with drew 9.76 million.
