Apple has had to postpone plans to offer on-demand viewing of television shows on its upcoming iPad product after TV networks and producers failed to co-operate, the Wall Street Journal reported today (Monday), citing people familiar with the situation. Instead, Apple is attempting to convince program producers to drop the price of TV shows to 99 cents, but the producers are concerned at how such a price drop would affect their deals with cable and satellite companies and are so far not cooperating, by and large. The Journal said that Apple is arguing that lower pricing would create a whole other market for the producers.
