CHANGE STATIONS BY WAVING YOUR HAND

A new “device” is about to go on sale in the U.S. that would allow viewers to change TV stations, play DVDs, and do just about anything that they can with a regular remote — simply by waving it in the air. As reported in today’s (Thursday) New York Post, the device, called the Kymera Magic Wand, employs motion-sensing technology similar to that used by the Nintendo Wii’s controllers that senses gestures and converts them into infra-red signals to the TV set. The 14-inch wand can be used with any TV set equipped with a remote control, the Post said. It noted that 10,000 units have already been sold abroad.
