“CLASH OF THE TITANS” DEFEATS “ALICE,” “DRAGON” OVERSEAS

Overseas, Clash of the Titans held on to the box office crown for its fourth consecutive weekend as it earned an estimated $32 million in 60 countries to bring its foreign total to $240.4 million. Also remaining strong in its eighth week was another 3D holdover, Alice in Wonderland, which grossed $26.7 million in 54 countries. Its overseas total now stands at $548.5 million. How to Train Your Dragon was the third-place finisher overseas, taking in $11 million in 60 countries, to bring its foreign gross to $194 million. All three films will likely move down a notch next weekend as Iron Man 2 kicks off ahead of its North American debut in order to get a jump on the World Cup, which is expected to put a damper on movie attendance internationally when it starts on June 11.
