Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel has lined up an all-star cast of Hollywood veterans to appear at its upcoming Classic Film Festival from April 22-25 and discuss their experiences making some of the most memorable movies in Hollywood’s history. Among those slated to appear, the channel said Thursday, are Mel Brooks, Jerry Lewis, Eva Marie Saint, Tony Curtis, Jon Voight, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Martin Landau, Anjelica Huston, Danny Huston, Buck Henry, Eli Wallach, Peter Bogdanovich, Luise Rainer and Ernest Borgnine. The event will also provide the opportunity for many people to view restored prints of classic films on the big screen for the first time — many of them in the opulence of two Hollywood movie palaces, the Grauman’s Chinese and Egyptian theaters. Some 50 films are scheduled to be screened. TCM’s Robert Osborne will host the affair, which will open with a restoration of the 1954 version of A Star Is Born and close with the complete version of 1927’s Metropolis that was screened at the Berlin Film Festival in February.
