I Love You Phillip Morris has a new release date — its fourth. When indie distributor Consolidated Pictures announced last week that it had canceled its April 30 premiere without announcing a new date, several writers speculated that it had run into recession-related problems and that the film would be returned to the shelves indefinitely. But on Sunday Consolidated said that it plans to open the film, a romantic comedy featuring two gay conmen played by Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, in limited release on July 30 and possibly expand it the following weekend. Nevertheless, writers on several movie-related websites expressed skepticism that the film would ever see the light of day.
