MURDOCH SAYS HE’LL INVESTIGATE REPORTS THAT FOX NEWS AIDS TEA PARTY

News Corp Chairman Rupert Murdoch said Wednesday during a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington that he will personally “investigate” charges that his Fox News Network has promoted the conservative tea party movement. In response to a question by Ari Rabin-Havt of the liberal Media Matters website in which Rabin-Havt referred to two instances when Fox News viewers were urged to support tea party gatherings, Murdoch said, “I don’t think we should be supporting the tea party or any other party. I’d like to investigate what you’re saying before condemning anyone.” Several liberal-oriented websites, including Media Matters, quickly posted images of a Fox News screenshot promoting “FNC Tax Day Tea Parties” in which Fox commentators are described as sponsors.
