Once again calling into question the policy of the major networks of dumping reruns and failing shows into their Saturday night schedule, CBS’s coverage of the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four doubleheader on Saturday averaged a whopping 15.09 million viewers, peaking in the first half hour with 19.36 million. It scored a hefty 4.4 rating and a 15 share among adults 18-49, the demographic group that advertisers prefer. Those numbers made it the highest-rated NCAA semifinals in five years. ABC, meanwhile, did what it always does on Easter weekend — air Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston as Moses. It drew 5.88 million viewers and was No. 2 for the night.
