RATINGS PLUMMET FOR ONCE-MIGHTY “HALLMARK HALL OF FAME”

Sunday night’s two-hour Hallmark Hall of Fame drama, When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story, drew disappointing ratings on CBS, averaging just 7.1 million viewers. The figure was especially unfortunate given the fact that it followed two No. 1-rated shows, 60 Minutes, which averaged 11.2 million viewers, and The Amazing Race, which averaged 10.6 million. The Hallmark films — Sunday night’s featured two-time Oscar nominee Winona Ryder in the title role — are some of the most expensive productions made for television and once drew sizable ratings. Ordinarily Hallmark produces around three Hall of Fame productions annually. Two previous ones that aired earlier this year, however, were repeats.
