“TITANS” STILL RULES OVERSEAS

Overseas, Clash of the Titans prevailed for a third straight weekend, grossing $53.6 million in 57 countries. Its foreign gross now stands at $188.7 million. Thanks to openings in Japan and Spain, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland experienced a resurgence at the overseas box office, where it added an additional $34 million and pushed it past the $500-million mark to $503.5 million. Its worldwide total has reached $827.5 million, making it Disney’s fourth-biggest hit of all time. Meanwhile, in its 18th week, 20th Century Fox’s Avatar edged closer to the $2-billion mark as it reached $1.972 billion.
