Cable companies are keeping a wary eye on an out-of-control TV communications satellite that appears to be heading into the path of another satellite serving U.S. cable companies. The two satellites are reportedly due to enter the same orbit around May 23. The Associated Press, which first reported the matter, said that a spokesman for the owner of the controllable satellite would not name which cable systems that could become affected, but, he added, “Our aim is to bring any interference down to zero.” He indicated that an attempt might be made to shift it into a different orbit. “We have all of our technicians, all of our specialists on this case.”
