Coverage of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill resulted in record use of NBC’s two online news sites, MSNBC.com and the business channel’s CNBC.com in May, corporate parent NBC Universal said Wednesday. MSNBC.com reportedly delivered 154 million video streams during the month, up 52 percent from May of last year. CNBC’s numbers were also driven by the stock-market plunge on May 6, which produced the site’s biggest traffic jam in history.
