Two new films are aiming squarely at summer-vacationing kids, and both are expected to pull in hefty receipts at the box office this weekend. Universal is getting its feet wet for the first time in 3D animation with Despicable Me, while Fox revives the old horror-flick franchise Predators. Universal has managed to scrape together about 1,500 theaters for Despicable, the Los Angeles Times reported today (Friday). The newspaper noted that it is expected to gross about $30-35 million and likely rise to the top of the box-office list. Predators is expected to earn $20-25 million.
