MOST POPULAR TV SHOW ON THE WEB: WIPEOUT
Suggesting that television on the Internet does not attract a more highbrow audience than the regular kind, comScore on Thursday said in its first Video Metrix report on audience numbers that the most-watched show on the Web in June was ABC’s Wipeout, with 1.2 million viewers, while the runner-up was ABC’s The Bachelorette. In fact, all of the top five TV shows watched online originally aired on ABC and included True Beauty (702,000 viewers), Jimmy Kimmel Live (682,000) and General Hospital (571,000). CBS made the top ten, but not with any of its ratings-strong primetime shows. Instead, it came in at No. 6 with Young and the Restless (551,000) and at No. 7 with Late Show With David Letterman (524,000).
