August 3, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Tom Mankiewicz, who had screenwriting in his DNA (his father, Joseph Mankiewicz, wrote All About Eve, and his uncle, Herman Mankiewicz, wrote Citizen Kane) died Saturday in Los Angeles at age 68. His own screenwriting credits included the James Bond movies Live and Let Die and The Man With the Golden Gun and Superman (as creative consultant). He was also the writer-director of several episodes of ABC’s Hart to Hart and directed the 1987 spoof, Dragnet, starring Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd.
