ABC LANDS IN BRITAIN

Walt Disney Co.’s TV production unit, ABC Studios, plans to launch a video-on-demand service in the U.K. via British Telecom’s BT Vision, Britain’s Guardian newspaper reported today (Thursday). The service will be available to subscribers for £6.99 per month (about $10.00) or at 99p (about $1.50) per individual episode, the newspaper said. Among the shows to be made available on the service are Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Criminal Minds, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and Brothers & Sisters. It marks the ABC company’s first VOD service outside the U.S.
