AN UNINTENDED MESSAGE FROM PANDORA
James Cameron’s MessageFromPandora.com website apparently accidentally disclosed information about the upcoming release of Avatar: Collector’s Edition on Monday. The website offers a preview of a full-length documentary that Cameron has produced about worldwide efforts aimed at halting construction of the Belo Monte Dam in Brazil, which, the website alleges, could have a profound effect on the Amazon rain forest and native tribes in the area. A message posted on the site — but later removed — said that the documentary is to be included in the Avatar set that is due to be released on November 16. Cover art of the upcoming set was also displayed, but it, too, was later removed. Other reports indicated that the Collector’s Edition will include yet another revision of Avatar, this one extended by sixteen minutes. Also included in the set will be 45 minutes of what was described as “unfinished material” from the production.
