Big Brother just keeps getting bigger. CBS said today (Monday) that the reality series posted its best ratings of the summer Sunday night, drawing 7.48 million viewers despite competition from the first NFL exhibition game of the year. The football telecast (Cincinnati vs. Dallas) on NBC easily beat everything else on television Sunday night as it drew 11.43 million viewers during the 8:00 p.m. hour against Big Brother and averaged 10.29 million for the night. The second highest-rated show of the night was CBS’s 60 Minutes, which averaged 9.27 million viewers. But ABC’s Scoundrels and The Gates at 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. respectively, tanked, averaging fewer than 3 million viewers.
