PEOPLE — NOT TV — GETS THE “BIG GET” WITH TIGER’S EX

While not many years ago, an interview with Elin Nordegren following her divorce from Tiger Woods would have been fought after by the likes of Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Oprah Winfrey, and all of the 60 Minutes correspondents, the interview– with the “get” wars apparently a thing of the past — landed in the laps of People magazine instead. It would have been a natural for television, with Nordegren providing such quotes as: “I’ve been through hell. … It’s hard to think you have this life, and then all of a sudden — was it a lie? You’re struggling because it wasn’t real. But I survived, it was hard, but it didn’t kill me.” The celebrity magazine, a publication of Time Inc., a unit of Time Warner, said that it had been approached by Nordegren, who wanted to tell her side of the story. A spokeswoman indicated that she did not ask for payment and received none.
