REALITY-SHOW SHOOTOUT ON THURSDAY

It was a battle of the reality shows on CBS and Fox Thursday night: CBS’s Big Brother against Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. Big Brother was the clear winner in the 8:00 p.m. hour with 7.9 million viewers versus 6.6 million for Dance. At 9:00 p.m., however, SYTYCD edged into the lead as it approached the announcement of the $250,000 prize winner, 18-year-old Lauren Froderman. The dance contest, with 7.7 million viewers, narrowly beat a CBS rerun of CSI, Crime Scene Investigation, which attracted 7.6 million. Also in the 9:00 p.m. hour, ABC saw its numbers tumble for Rookie Blue, , which drew 6.13 million viewers, and NBC found few eyeballs for reruns of its regular comedy line-up, which attracted fewer than 3 million viewers.
