AD REVENUE RETURNING — SLOWLY — TO BROADCASTERS

Broadcast TV stations, which saw a 22.4 percent plunge in advertising revenue in 2009, will see most of it return in 2010, according to a new report from Charlottesville, VA-based media researcher SNL Kagan. The report indicates that ad revenue at the stations will rise 15 percent this year. Ad revenue at the broadcast networks is expected to rise 5.1 percent to $19.1 billion after dropping 7.7 percent last year. Cable networks will grow 8.9 percent versus a 4.2 percent decline in 2009.
