CHINA GIVES INCEPTION A STRONG RECEPTION

Thanks to a strong opening in China, Warner Bros.’ Inception returned to the top of the overseas box office over the weekend, according to trade reports. The Hollywood Reporter said that the film had earned $13.6 million in China to help push its foreign total past the $400-million mark to $418.9 million. In all, the movie, now in its eighth week overseas, took in $24.4 million over the weekend. Remaining strong was Lionsgate’s The Expendables, which grossed $10.2 million in its third week, according to incomplete returns.
