GODARD SNUBS OSCAR INVITATION

Legendary French director Jean-Luc Godard has spurned an invitation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to come to Hollywood to accept an honorary Oscar after learning that the presentation will not be part of the televised Oscar ceremony. In an interview with The Australian newspaper, Godard’s wife, Anne-Marie Mieville said: “He just told me, it’s not the Oscars. … At first he thought it was going to be part of the same ceremony, then he realized it was a separate thing in November.”
