NEW JEOPARDY! RECORD COULD BOOST RATINGS

September 15, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Jeopardy!, which already is the second-highest rated syndicated television show, may again challenge its game-show companion, Wheel of Fortune for the top spot, after one of its contestants set a one-day record by earning $77,000. Roger Craig, a University of Delaware student studying for his PHd, will now go on to put Ken Jennings’s 2004 winning streak to the test. Jennings held the previous one-day record of $75,000, but held on to the lead for 74 shows to earn $3.02 million. During that streak, ratings for Jeopardy! soared 22 percent over the comparable period a year earlier.
