REDBOX RENTS ITS ONE-BILLIONTH DISC

Someone in Tampa, FL on Sunday rented a copy of Clash of the Titans, the one billionth DVD disc to pop out of a Redbox kiosk, the Coinstar-owned $1-a-night movie-rental company announced on Monday. In a statement, Redbox President Mitch Lowe said, “One billion rentals is an incredible milestone as Redbox has quickly become the local video store for millions of consumers nationwide.” Redbox has also launched a promotion to coincide with the billionth rental. Customers will be given the opportunity to rent one free movie for one night only after renting one other movie.
