WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS IS TOP MONEYMAKER

More than 20 years after the original Wall Street premiered, the sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps awoke at the top of the box office with a weekend take of $19.01 million, according to final studio figures released on Monday. The Warner Bros. 3D animated feature Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole came in second with $16.11 million. But, perhaps most impressive of all, Ben Affleck’s The Town, dropped just 34 percent in its second week to finish in third place with $15.60 million.


The top ten films over the weekend, according to final figures compiled by Box Office Mojo (figures in parentheses represent total gross to date):
