ANOTHER CROWDED WEEKEND AT THE CINEPLEX

October 8, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Four new films make their debut this weekend, but box-office forecasters suggest that none is likely to earn more than $20 million. Given the best chance of doing so is Warner Bros.’ Life as We Know It, starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. It will be competing against Disney’s Secretariat, which is expected to take the place position. Wes Craven’s 3D horror film My Soul to Take is likely to come in third. The fourth film, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, is debuting in only 742 theaters and is likely to end up near the bottom of the top-ten list. All four of the newcomers will be facing The Social Network, which debuted with $22.4 million last weekend and added another $6.4 million between Monday and Wednesday.
