This season’s NFL football telecasts are recording the highest ratings in history and drawing twice the number of viewers than the average non-sports television show, MediaWeek reported on its website Monday, citing Nielsen figures. More than 150 million people have watched at least part of an NFL game this season versus 146 million by this time last year, the trade publication said. NBC’s Sunday Night Football, offering the only primetime football coverage, is currently averaging 22.9 million viewers, up from 20.8 million at this time last year. CBS’s Sunday afternoon games are averaging 18.9 million viewers versus 15.5 million a year ago.
