HAPPY DAYS DAD BOSLEY DEAD AT 83

Tom Bosley, best remembered for his role as Howard Cunningham — “Mr. C” — on the ’70s sitcom Happy Days, has died in Palm Springs, CA of heart failure at age 83. He had also been battling lung cancer. In a statement, director Ron Howard, who portrayed Cunningham’s son Richie on the sitcom, said, “My last conversations with Tom reflected the love of life and peace of mind that he always maintained throughout his full and rewarding life.” And Marion Ross, who played the Cunningham matriarch on the show, observed. “He was so smart. He could fix the end of a joke or a scene on the spot. We made a perfect couple. I played piccolo to his tuba.”
