FAKE OLBERMANN EMAIL TRICKS WEBSITES

Several politically oriented websites were punk’d Monday when they ran an email exchange between Philadelphia Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky and a Keith Olbermann imposter. Bykovsky had received an email from keith@keitholbermann.com calling him “a moron” and saying, among other things that MSNBC boss Phil Griffin “did not suspend me. … I could have Phil Griffin fired tomorrow if I felt like it, trust me. And if he keeps yapping about me in public, I may. For the moment, however, keeping Phil around is like having a drunk chimp in the office — more amusing than threatening.” As websites ran with the exchange, Olbermann Tweeted that it was a “complete fake.” It later turned out that keitholbermann.com is run by conservative commentator Tucker Carlson as a parody website and that the emailer was presumably Carlson — who was fired by Griffin in 2008.
