Not only are Fox TV and the producers of American Idol juggling the judges on the talent contest, but they’re also juggling the nights — moving the performance shows to Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 19, and the results shows to Thursdays, beginning Jan 20. According to an announcement posted on the Idol website, the new season, with Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler making their debuts at the judges’ table, will launch with a two-hour special featuring winners of auditions held in Austin, TX; Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Orleans, San Francsico, and East Rutherford, NJ. Fox reportedly plans to move its hit Glee to the 8:00 p.m. time slot on Tuesday beginning Jan. 4, followed by a one-month test run of a new one-hour game show, Million Dollar Money Drop — which will also air on Thursday until Idol returns. Beginning Feb. 6, Million Dollar Money Drop will be replaced on Tuesdays by two half-hour comedies, the returning Raising Hope and the debuting Mixed Signals. Fox also plans to shift Bones to Thursday at 9:00 p.m. and Fringe, which had been performing marginally on Thursday, to the Friday gulag, where it will air after Kitchen Nightmares.
