NBC officials and producers of The Biggest Loser remained mum on Monday as some 100 members of the reality show’s production crew picketed the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas, CA in an IATSE organizational strike that some reports indicated was likely to spread to other reality show productions, both broadcast and cable. Reports on Monday indicated that a handful of replacements that the producers had hired were greeted in the early morning hours on Monday by the pickets who shouted “Scab!” and slapped their cars, but one of the strikers said that it was unlikely that the producers had been able to hire enough replacement crew to continue shooting the series, which is only in the first month of a five-month production schedule.
