SCREAMS ASIDE, BIEBER IS NO MATCH FOR THE NFL

Once again, NBC’s Sunday Night Football, this week featuring the New York Giants against the Philadelphia Eagles, scored solidly for the network, drawing an average 21.05 million viewers, peaking in the first half hour with 23.60 million. Not even Justin Bieber could compete. In fact, ABC’s telecast of the American Music Awards in which the 16-year-old Canadian was the big winner, drew an average of 11.69 million viewers, down from 14.24 million a year ago. Bieber won for artist of the year, favorite pop album, breakthrough artist and favorite male pop artist.
