NEW NBC SITCOM UPENDS WINNING SING-OFF

A preview of NBC’s new sitcom Perfect Couples had a somewhat-less-than-perfect unveiling Monday night. Airing after the finale of the network’s short season hit The Sing-Off, which averaged 8.51 million viewers between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Perfect Couples drew just 3.80 million viewers, placing it last. That led into a repeat of NBC’s The Office at 10:30 p.m., which attracted just 2.22 million viewers. While The Sing-Off easily beat its competition in the first two hours of primetime, that third hour dropped NBC to second place for the night behind CBS, which averaged 7.42 million viewers for a full slate of reruns. Also on Monday, Fox debuted its new game show, Million Dollar Money Drop, opposite The Sing Off with so-so results. It averaged 5.34 million viewers.
