While NBC remained the last-place broadcast network on average in 2010, USA Network, which is also owned by NBC Universal, will be taking the title as the No. 1 cable network for the fifth consecutive year, it boasted on Thursday. In a press release, USA said that it placed first in total viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. Among total viewers, it said, it averaged 3.14 million viewers — 22 percent higher than its closest competitor, the Disney Channel. Among the 18-49 demo, it delivered 1.23 million viewers — 11 percent higher than No. 2 ESPN. USA noted that also that in the case of its hit scripted series Royal Pains and Burn Notice, it led even its broadcast competitors.
