WEATHER CHANNEL: LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW

There’s nothing like foul weather to send ratings for the Weather Channel through the roof, and last weekend’s blizzard in the Northeast and heavy snow along most of the East Coast represented a ratings blowout for the channel. It said on Tuesday that it was the No. 1 cable news network between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday for adults 25-54 and was the No. 1 news network for the entire day on Sunday. The Weather Channel also boasted that it drew record page views on its iPad and iPhone mobile platforms, recording 3.8 million page views for its iPad app on Sunday, surpassing the record it set a day earlier, on Christmas Day, when it recorded 3.1 million page views. Online viewers also accessed the channel’s streaming video on www.weather.com more then 3.5 million times on Dec. 25 and 26.
