O’BRIEN TOP TALK SHOW HOST AMONG YOUNGER VIEWERS

Conan O’Brien may be running behind Jay Leno in terms of total viewers, but he was the top-rated talk show host among adults 18-49 and 18-34 in the fourth quarter, his network, TBS, said on Tuesday. The show’s median age is just 33, the cable network noted (that is, half his audience is younger than 33, while the other half is older than 33). The results include data from delayed DVR viewing. “Conan is just getting started on TBS, but the show has already proven to be a huge success in attracting a young, loyal audience,” Michael Wright, head of programming for TBS and other Turner Broadcasting networks, said in a statement. “Conan is #1 with key demos, and we are thrilled that the show is even younger than expected.”
