British actor Pete Postlethwaite, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 1993’s In the Name of the Father, died Sunday of cancer in Shropshire, England at age 64. Although battling cancer off and on for nearly 20 years, Postlethwaite remained active in movies and television. In 2010, he appeared as the bad-guy florist in The Town, as the fisherman who raises the demigod Perseus as his son in Clash of the Titans, and as the dying conglomerate founder in Inception. He also made numerous appearances as an environmental and anti-Iraq-war activist.
