CHANNEL PICKS UP THE KENNEDYS MINISERIES

Saying that it was “defending the right for well-told and important stories to be seen,” the ReelzChannel announced Thursday that it would air The Kennedys, the eight-part miniseries that was rejected by The History Channel, which originally commissioned it, and later by a host of other channels, following complaints by the Kennedy family and persons close to it that the series was historically false, misleading and offensive. Former Kennedy adviser, the late Ted Sorenson, added “vindictive” and “malicious” to those adjectives. In a statement, ReelzChannel CEO Stan E. Hubbard said, “We’re not beholden to anyone. … As an independent, we have the freedom few networks enjoy.”
