There are only a relative handful of 3D television sets in American homes, but that fact is not discouraging Discovery Communications, Sony Corp. and IMAX from launching the second 3D television network to debut within recent months. The new network, dubbed 3net, is due to begin broadcasting beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday over satellite operator DirecTV. The triumvirate is also seeking cable outlets. Sunday’s lineup includes two programs produced for the network, China Revealed and Forgotten Planet. ESPN got in the race first with ESPN 3D.
