SHAKEUP AT CBS NEWS

CBS today (Tuesday) appointed Jeff Fager, producer of 60 Minutes, chairman of CBS News. Sean McManus, who has been serving in the joint position of chairman of CBS News and Sports, will be focusing his attention solely on sports. Fager, meanwhile, will face the task of reviving the last-place CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and lifting its morning Early Show. The network also said that it is bringing in David Rhodes, head of Bloomberg television, who has been named president of CBS News.
