CBS FIRES CHARLIE SHEEN
For the time being, the CBS show could be called One and a Half Men, following the decision of Warner Bros. TV to fire Charlie Sheen. The studio issued a terse statement today (Monday), saying: “After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately.” It did not indicate whether the hit series will continue with another actor. Sheen had another year left on his contract, under which he has received $2 million per episode (including residuals). He has already threatened to sue Warner Bros. if he is not paid for the episodes that did not air this year. He almost certainly will also sue if he is not paid for those set to air this fall if he’s replaced or even if the show is yanked.
