TRUMP GETS DUMPED

Clearly Donald Trump has seen better weekends. Skewered mercilessly by President Obama and Saturday Night Live comic Seth Meyers at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, Trump saw the final minutes of his Celebrity Apprentice preempted on Sunday by NBC News coverage of the attack in Pakistan that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. Even worse, his announcement that he would formally become an active candidate after the current season of Apprentice wraps up was virtually buried by the bin Laden coverage. “I am going to announce,” he said on Bloomberg News, “but I can’t do anything until the show ends.” (He is restricted by the FCC’s Equal Time rule.) Meanwhile, throughout the day on Sunday, more than a million people watched the YouTube video of Trump sitting in the audience stone-faced as he was ridiculed at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner. Calling in to the Fox and Friends show Sunday morning, Trump said that he thought the entire affair “seemed inappropriate” given the fact that under Obama “the American people are really suffering.”
