CASEY ANTHONY MURDER TRIAL BOOSTS RATINGS FOR HLN

The Casey Anthony trial has sent ratings soaring for HLN, CNN’s sibling channel, and has also boosted ratings for other broadcast and cable shows focusing on the trial, the New York Post reported today (Monday). The newspaper observed that total viewers for HLN have risen more than 150 percent since the trial began; the channel’s Dr. Drew Pinsky has seen his ratings nearly triple during it. Other news outlets have climbed aboard. Friday’s Dateline on NBC, which merely recapped the trial, turned in the best numbers of the night. And ABC’s syndicated The View, announced that it is devoting a daily segment to it — the first time ever that the show will focus on one subject for an entire week.
