Confirming its status as NBC’s biggest hit in many a day, the final results show of The Voice averaged 10.77 million viewers Wednesday night and also ranked first among adults 18-49 in the 8:00 p.m. hour. The winning contestant, Javier Colon, is due to receive $100,000 and a recording contract. His victory margin over runner-up Dia Frampton was reportedly less than 2 percent of the votes, host Carson Daly said. The talent contest is due to return for its second season in January. Wednesday’s finale was followed by NBC’s hot summer series America’s Got Talent, which drew 13.56 million total viewers. But the debut of NBC’s new reality series Love in the Wild at 10:00 p.m. dropped to 6.47 million and was beaten by a rerun of CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which moved into its new timeslot on Wednesdays with 7.37 million viewers.
