Overseas, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 surpassed all forecasts as it set another record with $312.3 million — up 20 percent above the previous record-holder for a three-day weekend, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Given its British roots, it was no surprise that the top overseas earner was the U.K. with $37.8 million in ticket sales, representing the best three-day opener in that country, too. Worldwide the film grossed $481.5 million in its debut. Meanwhile, Transformers: Dark of the Moon remained on a tear overseas. It gained another $39 million to bring its foreign total to $460 million. Its worldwide total after three weeks stands at $762.80 million.
