The Parents Television Council, which has spearheaded the battle against what it regards as indecent content on broadcast television, is stepping up its attack on the upcoming NBC drama, The Playboy Club. While the series presumably contains no nudity, it does contain plenty of cleavage, promos indicate, as well as double entendres and shots of bunny tails. (It’s set in the original Chicago Playboy Club in the 1960s.) The PTC has sent letters to each of NBC’s owned and affiliated stations, protesting that the drama “glorifies and glamorizes” the pornography business. Last month the Mormon-church owned NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City announced it would not air the show. The series was quickly picked up by a rival.
